Rebecca has more than 20 years of experience in employment law and civil litigation. Rebecca is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Maine and to the First Circuit Court of Appeals.  She is a member of the Maine State and Androscoggin County Bar Associations, the Maine Trial Lawyers’ Association, National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the Central Maine Human Resources Association. She has repeatedly been a leader in the Labor and Employment section of the Maine Bar Association.  She is also the President of the Central Maine Human Resource Association for 2016-2018.

She provides regular alerts on employment law topics to corporate and municipal clients. Rebecca is a frequent presenter on employment law topics for clients, as well as at seminars and business gatherings for the Maine Human Rights Commission, the Maine State Bar Association, the National Business Institute (NBI), the Central Maine Human Resources Association, the Maine Women’s Network, Maine’s HR Convention, the Labor and Employment Relations Association, and the Chamber of Commerce. She has chaired the Maine State Bar Association’s annual seminar on labor and employment law for a number of years.

Rebecca is also actively involved in the community for the Maine Women’s Network in Androscoggin County; a member of the HR Committee of the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA; and as a member of the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce.

A native of Auburn, Maine, Rebecca received her B.A., cum laude, from Williams College, and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston College Law School. During law school, she was the Editor in Chief of the Boston College Environmental Law Review, was elected to the Order of the Coif, and received the Lyne, Woodward and Evarts Award for Outstanding Editorial Work. Following law school, Rebecca clerked for the Honorable Raya Dreben of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. She joined Skelton, Taintor & Abbott in 2013 after practicing law with a Maine firm, as well as a Boston firm known, at the time, as Palmer & Dodge.

In her leisure time, Rebecca enjoys running, skiing, soccer, hiking, and sporting activities with her children. She is the founder of the Leavitt Father's Day 5k (http://www.leavittfathersday5k.com). She is also on the booster organization for the Leavitt cross country team and for the nordic team, and coaches middle school cross country.
