Webber and Cole Take Part in Chamber Series for Small Business

AUBURN, Maine – Skelton Taintor & Abbott shareholder Rebecca S. Webber will participate in a series of seminars for small businesses presented by the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce. The early morning series, which Webber will moderate, explores the Strategies for Avoiding Employment Risk in 2015. It will take place on Feb. 24, March 19 and May 7 and have the theme of Employment Law on the Go: Practical Advice Designed to Reduce Risk.

Topics include Employment Law Update and Overview for Small Businesses, Wage and Hour Guidance from the DOL Itself and Workers Comp Guidance from the Board Itself. The speakers that Webber has arranged will offer attendees an insiders’ view of the issues. They include Scott Cotnoir, DOL Labor & Safety, and Paul Sighinolfi, executive director/chair, Workers’ Compensation Board. “This is a tremendous opportunity to meet with the enforcement folks in person and learn how they can assist businesses,” says Webber.
