Amy Dieterich is a shareholder with the firm of Skelton Taintor & Abbott in Lewiston, Maine, representing clients in the following areas:

Amy represents individual clients and businesses in commercial disputes, family matters, employment and labor law issues, as well as litigation, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings. Amy is admitted to practice in both Federal and state courts in Maine and New York.  She was selected for inclusion in 2017, 2018,  2019, and 2020 New England Rising Stars © in the category of Business Litigation.  Amy was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America© 2021 for her work in the practice area of  Employment Law – Individuals.

Amy is experienced in all aspects of litigation, from motion practice to discovery and trials. She can quickly identify the issues and work with her clients to develop strategies that are consistent with their goals and budget. Always representing her client’s best interest, she strives to resolve cases in the most effective and cost-efficient way possible.

Prior to joining Skelton Taintor & Abbott, Amy was associated with two prominent New York law firms where she gained valuable litigation experience in a wide variety of matters including securities, white collar crime, False Claims Act, ERISA, fraud, contract, and complex commercial disputes. She also previously worked as an Intern for the United States Attorney’s Office, Criminal Division in the Appeals and Major Crimes Divisions. Prior to law school, Amy was a Small Business Volunteer for the United States Peace Corps based in Morocco where she helped local artisans increase their disposable income and formalize their business practices.

Amy received her B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Bryn Mawr College and her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. While in law school, she received honors as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar for Academic Excellence and was a Managing Editor of the school’s Human Rights Law Review.

Amy is an appointed member to the Auburn Regulatory Advisory Board.  Amy sits on the Board of Trustees for Acadia Academy, a public charter school in Lewiston/Auburn for grades pre-K-6.  She also is an assistant coach of the Lewiston High School mock trial team.  In her spare time, Amy enjoys hiking and canoeing with her family in Maine’s parks and on its rivers.
