Avery A. Dandreta

Avery handles all aspects of commercial real estate transactions. Prior to joining Skelton Taintor & Abbott, Avery was an associate in another Maine law firm. She most recently worked in Real Estate Development for Ahold Delhaize. In that role, Avery worked closely with real estate brokers, developers, landlords, potential tenants, and buyers. She oversaw excess property portfolios of approximately 200 properties and was involved in local and state permitting. Avery also negotiated a wide range of commercial real estate deals, including lease amendments, lease option renewals, lease terminations, easements, and property sales.

In pro bono and other volunteer activities, she has taught for AmeriCorps, provided hotline advice with the Volunteer Lawyers Project and Safe Voices, and mentored at-risk Maine high school students. Avery is currently a board member for Healthy Androscoggin of Lewiston, and a member of the Freeport Zoning Board of Appeals. She has been a volunteer with the Maine College Guild since 2017.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Avery earned a B.A. from the University of Vermont and a J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law. While in law school, she worked at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic. Admitted to the Bar as a Student Attorney under Maine Bar rules, she represented clients in a variety of civil matters.  Avery also participated in the Domestic Violence Program and represented clients seeking Protection from Abuse Orders, which included negotiating agreements and representing clients at trial.

Avery enjoys exploring the New England outdoors with her husband and spending time with friends and family.
