After graduating cum laude from St. Lawrence University, Joan earned her J.D. at Northeastern University School of Law. She began her legal career in Boston as in-house counsel for a high-tech start-up that was acquired by Corning, Inc. Upon returning to Maine to continue her legal career, she held various positions with firms in southern and central Maine, specializing in veterans’ disability law, municipal law, collections, family law and civil litigation. Prior to joining Gosselin & Dubord, she ran a solo practice focused primarily in family law and civil litigation.
Joan was a founding board member of the Western Maine Children’s Play Museum (2012-2015). She remains active in the Franklin County Bar Association and served as its President in 2019.
A native of Jay, Maine, Joan resides in Jay with her husband and three young sons. In her free time, she is usually busy with her family or chasing the ever elusive runner’s high, with varying degrees of success.
