Bryan M. Dench appointed to the Maine State Board of Arbitration and Conciliation Service

AUBURN, Maine – Governor Paul R. LePage has appointed Skelton Taintor & Abbott chairman of the board of directors Bryan M. Dench to the State Board of Arbitration and Conciliation Services (BAC) as an employer representative.

BAC is part of the Maine Labor Relations Board, which administers and enforces Maine’s state laws that govern collective bargaining for public sector employers and employees. As needed, BAC is called upon to resolve contract negotiation disputes and grievances. Before convening a formal arbitration panel, the representatives try to conciliate a settlement between parties. Should a resolution not be reached, the matter proceeds to arbitration.

Dench’s diverse practice includes Mergers & Acquisitions, Administrative Law, Business, Collective Bargaining, Corporate Real Estate, Entity Formation, Estate Planning, Family Business Planning, Intellectual Property, Employment Law, Labor Law, Media, Municipal & Government, Administration Probate, Estate & Trust Administration, Schools & Higher Education, Taxation and Zoning & Land Use.

Given his experience and respected position in the legal community, Dench has frequently been asked to serve as a mediator in court cases and legal disputes. He serves on the board of directors of the Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA) of Maine.
