Attorney Jordan Payne Hay to Lead HR Workshop on Medical and Sick Leave

AUBURN, Maine – Skelton Taintor & Abbott attorney Jordan Payne Hay will be leading a Medical Leave and Sick Leave HR Workshop (entitled, “Sick of Dealing with Sick Leave? A (non-sickness inducing) Interactive Presentation about Medical and Sick Leave for Employees”) is free of charge and sponsored by the Southern Midcoast Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Hay will discuss issues related to family medical leave, Maine sick leave, and disability accommodation.  The presentation will be interactive and will include topics like: what employers need to know when employees ask for time off due to illness; how do the FMLA and the ADA relate to one another; and what questions an employer is allowed to ask regarding employee health issues. The program’s primary focus is family medical leave, but other laws will also be addressed. Participants are encouraged to submit questions to Attorney Hay in advance at jphay@sta-law.com.
