Protecting Our People – How STA is Responding to COVID-19

Dear Clients and Friends:

We at Skelton, Taintor & Abbott hope that you, your families, and colleagues are safe and well. We are providing an update for all STA clients and friends of the firm in response to the COVID-19 situation.

The impact of COVID-19 is affecting everyone in different ways. Our priorities are to keep our attorneys and employees healthy and safe, to support our clients who depend on us, and to make every effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.

While this situation presents challenges for all of us, we fully expect to remain operational and accessible for all client matters. We have outfitted our professionals with appropriate remote technology support, which affords our lawyers and other professionals the ability to effectively and efficiently perform their work remotely.

While we intend to maintain limited, on-site staff in our offices to administer client service, it is essential that our offices be as safe as possible.  Given the nature and uncertain impact of COVID-19, we are temporarily asking our attorneys and staff to schedule and conduct all client meetings by telephone or video conference. If you have any questions about this temporary policy please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

We have taken the extraordinary step to outfit our staff to work remotely.  Some employees are working remotely, full time, while others are working remotely for a portion of the day and working in the office for limited shifts.  We have taken all available precautions to keep our staff safe, including scheduling in-office shifts in a manner that reduces or eliminates any face-to-face contact.  We are prepared to have all our staff work remotely if necessary.  This may create some delays in response time from attorneys and staff, and we ask our clients to be patient as we adapt to this new structure.

Thank you for being a valued STA client. STA is committed to continuing to deliver exceptional services and legal counsel to our clients and communities. We recognize the uncertainty of this situation and we wish you well during this time. Please continue to reach out to us with any questions.

Thank you,

Sarah Mitchell
