Skelton, Taintor & Abbott attorneys named to Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

Category: Firm News

AUBURN, Maine – Five lawyers from the firm of Skelton, Taintor & Abbott have been named to the New England Super Lawyers 2014 list: Jill A. Checkoway (Estate Planning and Probate), Bryan M. Dench (Business/Corporate), Alan G. Stone (Energy and Natural Resources), Stephen B. Wade (Personal Injury Plaintiff: General) and Rebecca S. Webber (Employment and Labor). Marc N. Frenette (Insurance Coverage) is a Rising Stars honoree.

Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. No more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are selected. Rising Stars recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys who are 40 years old or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.

The objective of Super Lawyers is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel. Earlier this year, the Super Lawyers selection process received a patent from The United States Patent and Trademark Office.

“Having five lawyers in a firm our size recognized in this elite group is an honor,” said firm Chairman Bryan Dench. “It is humbling and gives us the resolve to continue working hard to give excellent service to all our clients.”

Skelton, Taintor & Abbott is one of Maine’s leading law firms serving individuals and businesses in litigation and general representation throughout northern New England for more than 150 years. The firm has been named in U.S. News-Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms” in America.
